We need a statewide boycott of FCAT. How about Awake The State take this up
as part of its cause?

I suggest a statewide grassroots movement to protest FCAT. It's time to get parents to simply keep their children home during FCAT. Start with a Facebook page and it will catch like wild fire. Parents and students are sick of being drilled over FCAT. Parents and students need to stand up and demand a curriculum-rich education. Every Wednesday at my kid's middle school the history teacher has to drill and kill on FCAT instead of learning history. It has got to stop. Let's all stand up to Jeb, Rick Scott, and Barack Obama. They're all pushing this nonsense and it's time to stop. Once again, we need a statewide boycott of FCAT!!

So who's willing to start a Facebook page calling for a boycott over this God-forsaken test which is the be all and end all in Florida schools?

1. I think it is a great idea for a parent to start a boycott.
Our children deserve the same education as Obama's and the rest of them. They deserve to be taught to think for themselves and not be sheep waiting to be "tested" all the time. I think they are being taught to be submissive and not to stand up to authority. It is not a good thing to allow this sort of fake education to go on any longer.

2. The math, reading, and science FCAT starts in mid-April. There is plenty of time
to organize something with social networking. I'm not opposed to standardized tests but I am opposed to them being the single driver of education to the detriment of critical thinking, the arts, physical education, civics, history and foreign languages. If we could get 100,000 parents across the state to let kids stay home during FCAT that would be AWESOME. It would also send a message to our beleagured teachers that parent support them!
