GEORGIA US SENATE RESULTS
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING

The DU admins are posting a number of official results threads in the various state forums. These threads are being made available for those members who wish to participate in them on Election Night.

A full listing of campaign results will appear on the DU homepage on Election Night.

This thread is for posting election results ONLY. Please do not use this thread for discussion. There is an entire message board that you can use for discussion. PLEASE PUT THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION IN THE TITLE OF YOUR POST. Include the candidate names (Dem first, then Republican), the current result, and the precincts reporting, like so:

Candidate A 53%, Candidate B 46%, 38 precincts reporting

There are going to be lots of results threads, and it will be difficult for the moderators to police all of them. If someone tries to disrupt, please hit alert on their post to let the moderators know. If this thread goes off topic, feel free to give others a polite reminder about the purpose of this thread.

3. Did Kerry's coattails help Majette?
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 12:14 AM by flaminbats
Bush 58.03% Kerry 41.43% Badnarik(L) .5%

These results suggest that a majority of voters who voted Libertarian in the Senate race also voted for Kerry. IMHO these voters were not voting against Majette, but for the Senate candidate they were most familiar with. A smaller portion of those who voted for Kerry also voted for Isakson, probably for the same reason.

Nearly all who voted for Majette also voted for Kerry. Kerry didn't drive voters away from Majette, Majette lost votes because she was virtually unknown to all living outside of the 4th district and metro Atlanta. As a result..two of the counties Kerry won went to Isakson. It also seems clear that Bush hurt Isakson more than he helped.
