Anyone interested in getting together a Metro Atlanta DU meetup?

We really need to mobilize for the election. Everyone is writing off Georgia, but I honestly believe that if we could mobilize the people to vote - the ones who think "What difference will it make?" we might see GA move to the blue. I love posting on DU, but what if we could actually turn some of this energy into working to defeat Bush here in GA? I know you all probably think it's impossible, but I know what I am seeing - the comments I am getting out in public. I think if there was ever a year we could turn GA around this is the year.

Although, I moved to Athens about a year ago, so it may be difficult for me to get down depending on where it is. Manuel's is a GREAT venue. I was there for the 2000 election and had the most exciting time. Got to meet Manuel and everything. Please keep me posted.

but I would love to get on the list if you are planning on having another meeting. I just moved here from South Carolina and it is honestly refreshing. I feel like I just got out of GOP hell. Georgia is so much more open minded than South Carolina, as hard as that might be to believe.

I have been under the gun lately with all the move in of family members and broke to the bone so I don't get a chance to do anything lately but cook the old fashioned way and be the caretaker. something has got to break soon and I don't mean me or the wallet.
