Is anyone here involved with the Georgia Dem party
The Ralph Reed announcement has me completely stoked to get out and beat that bastard. I KNOW that if we start now we will expose him for the bastard he is.

But guess what...called the GA DNC...office closed...called DNC in DC to get info on who the Dems are going to nominate...no one to talk to...I know we will have to take matters into our own hands. Let's also start speaking amongst us about strategy and activities. Ralph Reed must not ever be elected to serve the people. He is opportunistic phony christian who lives on creating hate and divisiveness. I will not let him win!!

1. Let us hope that Max Cleland takes an interest in this race
I wouldn't want Max to run for LGOV but he could be one noisy distraction for the little "christian" snot.

5. This could be the ultimate test case for Democrats
Treat a republican the way republicans treat others. Take the gloves off and pound incessantly. Such endeavors should be easy for dems, all they have to do is pound the truth.

7. well the thing we'll need more than anything else is $$$$$$
it's gonna take ad campaigns. And Reed can be crucified. yes he can.

I've tried to join the Georgia Dem party - but as Randi Rhodes is fond of saying - it ain't easy. the local parties are dead. Hopefully the good Dr. Dean can help us with some emergency resuscitation.

8. Rumors and such.
Greg Hecht is running for Lt. Gov. and rumor is that Mary Squires is thinking about that or Secretary of State. Everyone wonders if Denise Majette will try again for a statewide office.

10. Hi Guys! Another State Committee Member checking in
About Mary Squires, trust me people when I say I have it on very VERY good authority that she was/is planning on running for Insurance Commissioner. It may not be this election cycle though. She wants to wait until both her boys are out of school.

And yes, I agree totally about rumors and such.

And to original poster - all state functions are open to the public. Please come and get involved. Also, go to your local party meetings - a treasure trove of information.

11. Doc Eldridge is also going to run for Insurance Commissioner
He's a former A-CC Mayor and owns an insurance company in Athens. ter he was defeated by Heid Davidson, he switched parties.

9. I'm State Committee Member....
...and a member of the Fulton County Dems (www.fultondems.com) The party in Georgia is a mess. We are all trying to rebuild and regroup. It's a big long sad story. Suffice to say, join your local party, painful as it may be. We need progressive voices badly. As Krebs said, check out www.georgiafordemocracy.org and
Really, the most important thing is to, as Chairman Dean says - Show up! The only way I get anyone to the Fulton monthly meetings is by promising that we'll go out drinking and gabbing afterwards...

As for Lt Governor, there is also a rumor that Michael Thurmond (current Labor Commissioner) is running along with Hecht, and maybe Squires and Majette. Just rumors...

13. More news on '06 races:
"Perry McGuire, a former Republican state senator from Douglasville, has formed his '06 campaign committee for secretary of state. We're not sure how much money McGuire can raise, or how quickly. But he certainly has come out of his corner swinging at Senate Majority Leader Bill Stephens of Canton, the only other Republican who has announced for the race."

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/insider/

That's just what we need, a Repub Secretary of State. let me just predict right now that if we get one, they will be the '08 Repub. Presidential nominees state chair or co-chair.
