Research project:
This from a Repub site (10/7/02):
"An AJC editorial on Sunday compares the views of Governor Barnes and Sonny Perdue on transportation and the Northern Arc. When Roy Barnes took office, the average commuter in Atlanta spent 62 hours in traffic in addition to their commute times. Now that number is 70 hours a year. Over and over, failed leadership and missed opportunities seem to be the hallmark of the Barnes administration. We need a Governor who will take action to solve the problems we face, not continue to merely throw money at them and ask for reelection.
Sonny Perdue is also calling for an increase in Medicaid spending to help the elderly. He plans to pay for the increase by cutting pork projects from the state budget. Senior citizens are a vital part of the Republican Declaration of a New Georgia, with tax cuts for those over 62 and expanded health care options."

In preparation for next year, someone might be interested in how the commute times have fared under Sonny, and whether he was able follow through on those Medicaid increases.
