Cheney coming to Smyrna - Monday 5/2

The AJC rports that Dick "Crashcart" Cheney will be in metro Atlanta Monday. In town to hawk for the Social Security "reform" plan Crashcart will appear at Campbell High School in Smyrna at 11AM.

Activists are organizing a protest:


The International Action Center in cooperation with the Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition and other groups is calling for a protest to be held starting at 10am to declare" Hands Off Social Security! Money for Human Needs, Not War and Occupation!

Parking may be difficult on Ward St.
On Windy Hill, there are a number of commercial businesses with parking lots as well as a shopping center at Windy Hill and Atlanta Rd.

The plan is to set up the demonstration on the sidewalk on Ward St. either directly in front of the school or across the street with a fall-back position being the corner of Windy Hill and Ward.

Groups and individuals are encouraged to bring signs and banners, drums and noise-makers

I read that there were still tickets available to the general public and that questions would not be pre-screened. I suppose since they've sent Cheney instead of Dumbya they can dispense with the pre-screening.

The Republicans must be getting desperate. They've let Cheney out of his undisclosed location. Has anyone seen him or Lynn in weeks?
