Judge rules boy who married woman is a delinquent
A judge ruled Wednesday that a 15-year-old boy who skipped school to marry a 37-year-old woman who is pregnant with the boy's child was a delinquent.

The boy, identified only by his initials "A.S.G.", admitted in a juvenile court hearing to violating his probation on a previous burglary conviction by missing school and leaving home Nov. 8 to marry Lisa Lynnette Clark of Gainesville. Clark has been charged with child molestation.

"I am going to make the determination that Mr. A.G. is a delinquent youth," Juvenile Court Judge Mary Carden said of the boy, wearing a dark shirt and pants but no wedding ring, who politely answered her questions with "Yes, ma'am" and "No, ma'am."

.......

Carden said that the boy must have no contact with Clark, either in person, by letters, phone calls, or through others.

"No contact whatsoever. You understand that?" Carden asked the teen, who said "Yes, ma'am." Clark, as a condition of her bond, is required not to come within 100 feet of the boy.

1. These situations have always existed
But now, under the new fundie/theocratic government all are sins. And they want retribution for these sins. Get real. Enough is enough.

2. He's a delinquent
Because he skipped school or because he wanted sex with an older woman?

4. Well you know what they say
Women are always drawn to the bad boys. Even if they are 22 years younger than them.

5. Hello Mrs. Robinson
Let it be. The government has been way too intrusive. If they want to take after sexual kinkos, turn them loose on the polygamists in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona/Nevada.

9. No, because the fundies think this is okay.
They would have arranged marriages from birth if they could get away with it... and they probably already do.

15. He's a delinquent because he tried to marry
the mother of his children.
So I guess skipping child support payments is okay in this world.

8. And they will write a book
and make money. So why does the government fit in?

These relationships(?) have been going on forever, but now it's the government's business? Theocracy moving in.

7. It's always All About Sex
The idea that they might actually ... no, I can't say it, I'd have to use the "L" Word ... well, the law and the press think it's all about sex.

And our press and legal establishments sure do love a good Pedo Frenzy!

10. Let me get this straight
He's on probation for a burglary conviction, he skips school to marry a 37 year old woman. By law he's a delinquent. Not because of the sex, but because he's on probation. I do not have a problem with that. I also do not have a problem with the judge saying he has to stay away from a woman who is on trial for statutory rape (if that's what she is being tried for).
If the genders were reversed people would be outraged calling the 37 year old a perv and predator.

13. Gee. So, married people can not be kept apart? What if one
was beating the shit out of the other? Still shouldn't be kept apart?

16. Can he be declared an emancipated minor due to fatherhood?
I read the threads this week about 14-year-old girls being declared emancipated minors when they give birth. Let's say that this young man (or if not him, then another 14-year-old young man) WANTED to be a father to his child which is being carried by a 37-year-old willing woman who is his wife under the laws of his state. Can they legally prevent him from seeing that child, being a father to it, even if he is not allowed to see the woman?

What a sticky situation!
