What is it with Georgia republicans?
Is there some kind of psychology test in the Georgia GOP, those who show signs of sanity are excluded?

I mean, Newt Gingrich, Bob Barr, Sonny Perdue, Ralph Reed and now this dork.

Democrats have been buzzing about comments made by state Sen. Nancy Schaefer (R-Turnerville) at a recent eggs-and-issues breakfast in Hart County. We quote from the Hartwell Sun newspaper: "Commenting on illegal immigration, Schaefer said 50 million abortions have been performed in this country, causing a shortage of cheap American labor. 'We could have used those people,' she said."

1. They've gone wild with power since gaining control for the first time
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 07:06 PM by CottonBear
since post civil war reconstruction. The party is controlled by business interests bent on bankrupting our state, cutting the budget for parks, greenspaces, river protection, schools, Medicare, health care and any sort of transporatation other than auto. Theyare busy repealing river buffers and clean water laws. The war on Christmas is one of their main priorities. Our state is controlled by the freaking chamber of commerce, corporations, the far RW of the GOP and the fundies.

Racist and intolerant speech has become common and OK. The racists, anti-feminists, xenophobes, bigots and fundies have been loosed from their hidden, dark places and unleashed upon our fair state.

3. I hear there are a lot of people relocate here every year.
I can only hope there are enough to dilute the local gene pool!

I still don't understand most of the locals, and we've lived here almost 6 years. I even had the dumb sh*t at the local Blockbuster tell me how stupid it was to rent Farenheight 911 because you had to be crazy to believe Shrub would have ever used drugs!

PLEASE Yankees, comeon down to Ga. WEe NEED ya BAD!!!!!

5. The two Yankees I know vote Republican.
Argh! It drives me freaking crazy. At least the wife was too lazy to actauly vote for anyone in 2004 although her husband did vote. I thought that people from Boston, Mass. would be more liberal. Who knew?

6. Sorry Cotton, I think a lot depends on how wealthy they are.
Every State has some Dems & Some Pubs, and Mass. isn't any exception. FYI, my hubby & I moved here from Pa. and we always vote Dem! My son lives in Newnan and he always votes Dem.

I'm hoping Ralph Reid's connection to Abramoff and Gambling (which of course is a BIG no no here) will disgust the locals so much, they'll just stay home in Nov!

7. My friends moved here for the money the husband could make.
I don't think they would ever have moved here unless it was for the high-paying job. The wife stays at home with the two kids. Unfortunately, the husband was just laid of from his six figure slary job and is now job hunting.

8. Layed off? Will he thank Shrub's GREAT economy?
I hate to see anyone suffer, but thst is exactly the people we need to get through to. Those who thought Shrub was the greatest, and look at all that $$ he saved them in taxes! Not bad, until you're unemployed!
