What, nothing about the Flying-Monkey Censor Momma?
Our own Laura Mallory, who persuaded dat ol' Gwinnett Co. Liberry to hold a HEARING to determine whether to censor the Harry Potter series?

LAWRENCEVILLE — The next challenge Harry Potter will face has nothing to do with horcruxes, Hogwart’s or the half-blood prince. Instead, it will be a group of concerned parents looking to take the series off the shelves of all Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Laura Mallory of Loganville filed an appeal last week to get the best-selling book series out of the schools’ media centers. She is an evangelical Christian who has three children at J.C. Magill Elementary School.

"I think the anti-Christian bias — it’s just got to stop," Mallory said. "And if we don’t say something, we’ll just keep getting pushed out of the schools. And I pay taxes, too, and I think that gives me a voice to speak out about this."

Y'know lady, I pay taxes here too, and I'll gladly have you institutionalized until you're all better.

3. Well, she got her public hearing...
It's a front-pager in the Hillbilly Rag this morning:

“I want to protect children from evil, not fill their minds with it,” Mallory said. “The ‘Harry Potter’ books teach children and adults that witchcraft is OK for children.”

The “Harry Potter” series follows the young wizard from the age of 11, when he learns of his lineage, as he’s educated at Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

At Thursday’s hearing, Mallory spoke against the books along with four other parents and students. One of them was Stacy Thomas, a mother of five, who said reading the “Harry Potter” series made her daughter turn to witchcraft, ultimately causing their Christian family to lose friends, finances and their reputation.

Her daughter, Jordan Fusch, 15, testified that she began experimenting with tarot cards, curses and seances after reading the books. “As a former witch, I can tell you that witchcraft is not fantasy. ... I felt I could not escape the clutches of witchcraft,” Fusch said. “It has taken several years of counseling to get to where I was before witchcraft and reading ‘Harry Potter’ books.”

You can't make this shit up.

4. Here's the result--Potter wins!

Victim? You can't claim "persecution" when you're in the numerical, social, and political majority. Anti-Christian bias? More like anti-I'm-mad-that-I-can't-make-everyone-think/act/pray-MY-way bias.

8. G'day, CottonBear!
:hi:

At least it gets these young kids (and not-so-young kids) reading and not spending so much time watching TV and video games.
