Do any of you know a school superintendent from DeKalb County
named Johnny Edward Brown? He is a finalist for the supt job in my school district.

Here is what our local paper says:
■ Johnny Edward Brown, a former superintendent from Georgia, has gained a flashy reputation for turning around struggling districts. But he left his latest posts in Decatur, Ga., and Birmingham, Ala., having supporters and detractors.

4. I remember that there was some controversy surrounding him
but that, all in all, it was relatively mild. He was also in the Decatur city schools, which is one of the best districts in the state, for two years. I imagine he'd be fine. I see that he's also under consideration in Tulsa.

5. One of our TV stations is reporting they hired the guy from New Orleans
which is fine by me, cause I think he is the one who turned off the a/c in his admin building until every school in the district was air conditioned. I like that kind of leadership. :)

6. He had nothing to do with Decatur City Schools
He came from Birmingham, AL to Dekalb County. He had absolutely nothing to do with Decatur City Schools. He was crap in Dekalb County and crap in Birmingham from what I understand. Dekalb County wound up paying him to go away. He did very little that I could see for Dekalb County. He did make children wear uniforms. Big whoop.
