I want to thank Cox and Taylor

for giving Perdue a victory in the Governor's race. Thay have gotten so out of control battling each other I think they have lost sight of the ultimate goal. What is wrong with these people?

I had signed up to campaign for Cathy Cox, but she has turned me off so much, I am re-thinking that decision.

It seems lately that it is one thing after another with them.

They are going to cause such bad blood over having a Democrat in the Governor's office that Perdue is going to slide back in!

Having said that, yeah, I caught Cathy's ad calling Taylor a liar. I felt like I needed a shower afterwards. And the candidates' complete sellout of our gay brothers and sisters makes me want to puke.

and didn't select a governor candidate. There are a couple of people running besides Cox & Taylor, but I didn't know anything about them. If it weren't for her role in saddling us with Diebold, I'd go for Cox. But I can't forgive her for that. By the time the general election comes around I may be able to hold my nose and vote for the Dem candidate; we'll see.

5. What to do, what to do

I can't stand either one of these candidates. I just moved here about 6 months ago, so I don't know very much about either one. The ads from both campaigns have turned me off so much that I just simply don't want to bother finding out. They both look so stupid there's no way either of them will get enough support to beat Sonny. Are their accomplishments so few that they have to spend all their advertising time and dollars trashing each other? All Sonny has to do is sit back and relax; he's a shoe-in. What a shame. I hope this is a low point in politics for Democrats in GA and not the norm. It is embarrassing for the entire party.

But, please whatever you decide to do, please please don't throw away the opportunity to vote for the down ballot candidates by pulling a Republican ballot. Some Dems are talking about doing this to fend off Ralph Reed. It's unlikely that we'll really have an effect and it's so bad for the Lt Gov, SOS, and the rest.

And, those of you who are interested and have a little extra time - please join your local party. I work with the Fulton County Dems. The party is in a shambles pretty much across the state but we need help. It's your party, too... and you can make a difference. Even if you just sign up for the email lists, or come to a social event, you'll find some like minded folks and we'll all be happy to see a new Democratic face.

10. Cox is not dumb, not by any stretch of the imagination

But she is ethically challenged, so much so that I wouldn't vote for her for dog catcher, much less governor.

Now as far as other candidates, I'll vote for Taylor if he beats Cox in the primary. Remember, we have the machine code to beat on this one, so everyone really needs to get out and vote. Why? Because if Diebold is going to put their pet SOS in the governor's office, we can head them off by making sure we turn out for the primary and select Taylor. He might look better to us all when it's him against Perdue.

Next in the primary we have the SOS. Scott Holcomb has pledged his support of voter verified paper ballots. He's smart enough for the job (he's an attorney), he's an Iraq vet, he's a democrat and he has authored the "Georgia Voter's Bill of Rights". We need this guy as SOS, but it won't happen if Dems are doing cross-over tricks or otherwise not at the primary on July 18 to vote. http://www.scottholcomb.com/

For Lt. Gov. we have a great candidate, Jim Martin. This is a good guy with a capital G, something rare in Ga politics.

Finally, for those in DeKalb county, we have Cynthia McKinney. She's not a shoo in because of all the usual bashing that has gone on, so if you love her like I do, be at the polls or get your paper absentee ballot (no excuses needed to vote absentee this year) and vote for her. I want this woman back in Washington where she has been doing a fantastic job and is one of the rare few up there who speaks truth to power.

For those who've supported her, not hard to see why -- she's a smooth operator.

But ever ask yourself why she has fought so hard to keep paper ballots off the Diebold Election System, defeating our efforts for the past 3 legislative sessions and thereby leaving Georgia's voting system unauditable?

Ever wonder why she didn't decertify Diebold like Kevin Shelley did in California, after finding out that they put unauthorized patches on the system just before the 2002 election? Why she made excuses for them? Why she let them get away with it? Why she let them get away with not training poll workers on creating ballot definition files in 2002, so that Diebold ended up getting that job (ballot definition files are a good insertion point for a Trojan Horse, according to the Brennan Report (http://www.brennancenter.org/).

Ever wonder why she had election law changed after Diebold came to town so that it takes a court order to count paper ballots in GA?

And then there's the matter of the fact that she probably knew that the system wasn't secure before the 2004 election because the gov. asked the Georgia Technology Authority to look into security on the machines, they brought in ISS, and ISS said the system wasn't secure and couldn't be secured in time for the 2004 election.

But no one from her office or the election division bothered to tell the public.

And then there's the matter of her amendment to the Diebold contract to upgrade the software for security reasons immediately AFTER that election, in December 2004. The contract includes them erasing the old software and loading the new -- which just happened to leave them useless for forensics if anyone had managed to get a lawsuit going?

A bit hard to make excuses for that behavior, but guess she thinks that people don't care enough to be paying attention and she can just talk her way out of everything.

I hold her personally liable for the Diebolding of Georgia, and even though I doubt that Taylor can win, I'll vote for him. It's not our fault that Georgia, as a whole, seems to have embraced the Repukes. I will vote with my heart in the primary, and vote for the Dem. in November (as always).

Both are running a distasteful campaign, but her's, to me is the worse.

Although the whole "Big Guy" thing drives me insane! Taylor needs to stop that. But, I know that whole Bubba image probably plays well in central and south GA!!
