Poll Watchers needed asap

Pollwatchers are needed for DeKalb, Gwinnett and Rockdale counties for the runoffs.

This is the way to compile evidence of problems, create a historical record of the conduct of the election and Diebold's performance. The information in pollwatchers' reports helps move us closer toward getting voter verified paper ballots. You'll also be helping fight voter intimidation and disenfranchisement.

In the primaries last week, Cynthia McKinney's pollwatchers reported the following:

1. Voter Intimidation and Voter Suppression:
* Voters who attempted to Vote for Cynthia McKinney state that their Vote was changed to Hank Johnson, complaints for both DeKalb and Rockdale County Locations.
* Machine Voted for the Candidate on its own, not for his choice, Cynthia McKinney.
* No Congressional Candidate on Ballot, he was not able to vote for Cynthia McKinney.
* Disparaging remarks made by Rainbow Elementary, Poll Officials in view and ear sight of Voters, as heard and witnessed by Poll Watcher.

2. Voting Integrity was comprised by many factors including:
* Malfunctioning and/or Faulty Voting Equipment
* Arbitrary decisions by Election Officials to foster an environment or practice that inhibits one from Voting
* Misguided efforts to limit the use of Provisional Ballots, or not direct a Voter to the Correct Poll Location.
* Untrained Poll Workers, and Unprofessional Poll Workers.
* Voting Machines Involuntary Shutdown
* Voting Machines becoming Over Heated
* Voting Machines making an Candidate Selection not initiated by the Voter

WHAT: Volunteers to work as Poll Watchers
WHEN: Tuesday, August 8, 2006 from 5:30AM
WHERE: Poll Locations in DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Rockdale Counties.
DEADINE TO VOLUNTEER: They need to have their list ready for submission by 5:00 PM - Wednesday, July 26, 2006. Sorry for the short notice!

TRAINING: Poll Watcher Training will be on Wednesday, August 2nd ; and Thursday, August 3rd.

If you're not a McKinney supporter, contact any candidate of your choice and see if they are working with the Dems to get pollwatchers. I did this through the Dem Party last year.
