HAWK TAKING CHIHUAHUA ALERT...
Our Featured Pet... SMALL DOG ALERT!!! All owners of small dogs need to read this very carefully. Often times we think our little guys are safe because we have a fenced in backyard. However, this is not always true and we need to make sure that when they are in the yard that you are never far away. A very dear friend had her two chihuahuas out in the yard on a pretty Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago. She had the back door opened and was using her hand vacuum to get up all those little chihuahua hairs. All of a sudden she heard Geisha (her long haired chihuahua that she rescued from me) screaming. When she looked out a hawk had grabbed Geisha. She actually threw the vacuum at the bird in the yard and miraculously he dropped Geisha and flew off. Geisha only had minimal scratches but she was totally traumatized by the incident. This was in a residential area in Marietta so hawks are everywhere and because of the weather we have had they are hungry and searching for food. REMEMBER FOLKS - make sure you go out with your babies and protect them from the vultures (both human and animal)!

IF you have small dogs and live in a Hawk area please be careful!!!

1. Yes, be very cautious.
Over the summer, I whelped a litter of puppies. The puppies were running around in the yard, and I looked above and saw hawks circling. I gathered the puppies up and put them in a pen with a chicken wire fence on top. Scary.
