I live on the North side near Sterling. Please accept my apology for taking so long to answer/reply. For some reason FF 3.5 beta doesn't agree with DU! It never, until recently occurred to me that my Browser would be my problem logging in to DU but it was.

We have us one backward little town here IMHO. It is nice to know I'm not all by myself here. :) Our County Commissioners, (CC), believe they own this little slice of heaven.

To anyone reading imagine this, the CC pays $450k to a consulting firm that says move the jail to land the County already owns, 5 miles from current location. So our CC decides not to move the jail and by Emminent Domain are going to buy everyones property on the entire city block and build a new jail right where the old one sits. Some deal huh? Waterfront property for the inmates. People have been living there for years and years and now the Government is going to take their land. Amazing. On the positive side the carbon footprint should be smaller by them staying put. I'm sorry for the people who have to move though.

Anyway Glad to know I'm not the only DUer in this sleepy little town!:bounce: :hi: :shrug:

I really enoyed it. Weather was great and I like that flat land and those straight roads. Totally different from Metro Atlanta.

I was there 1978-1982. Hell........I never paid any attention to politics back then....and neither did anyone else if I can remember right....I was too busy partying and going to Savannah. I went back about 10 or 15 years ago I think....on the way to St Simmons.........we got completely lost.

I remember jumping up and down like little kids in our dorm room watching the returns come in during the first Clinton term in 92. We were so excited. It was my first election and we won!

Then I commenced to partying and not paying much attention to politics.
