Is Regina Thomas giving up her seat in GA Senate ? Or will she still be in the GA Senate

Regina Thomas (GA 2nd district: Garden City, Pooler, Port Wentworth, Savannah and Thunderbolt) tried to take over the Democratic nomination from Blue Dog John Barrow for the 12th District for the US House of Representatives.

Obama chose Barrow. The Savannah Morning News chose Barrow. And a vast majority of voters chose Barrow.

If she is out of the GA Senate, does anyone really understand why she committed political suicide? Or will she still be in (up for reelection in) the Senate?
