Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 is the earliest the US Supreme Court can decide to hear or reject Davis's cert petition (his final appeal).

Please continue to hope and pray that they will decide to hear his petition.

If they decide on Monday (29th) to reject his request, we will rally at the capitol steps (Washington St. side) for state intervention that Monday at 7pm.

If the court does not make a decision on Monday, Sept. 29, it will likely make a decision the following Monday (Oct. 6), keeping the stay of execution in place. If that happens, we will hold a daily prayer vigil at 7pm on the capitol steps, Monday Sept. 29 through Friday, Oct. 3.

1. update. breathe. decision not until wednesday. info below:

GFADP friends,

I'm happy to let you know that we have learned that there will not be a
decision from the US Supreme Court until Wednesday at the earliest.
Since the warrant for Troy Davis' execution expires on Tuesday at noon,
he is SAFE for the time being.

If the US Supreme Court comes back with a bad decision on Wednesday,
Georgia will have to seek a new execution warrant for him which must be
given at least ten days in advance of the execution date. So dear
friends, Troy Davis is safe for now.

Please join us every night this week at 7pm at the Georgia State
Capitol, Washington Street steps, to vigil for this case.
