Friday(TODAY) actions for Troy Davis - STILL ON!
from email:

Despite this rain, we will still be carrying out the actions we wrote
to you about yesterday (included below). We have some extra ponchos
and umbrellas so come on out and be part of the funeral procession.
meet at 10:45 outside of Johnny Rocket at Atlanta Underground.

Thanks!

Friends,

As Troy Davis' scheduled execution date on Monday grows nearer , we
continue to take action to show our opposition. We will not accept
the inevitability of Monday's scheduled execution. We believe and
urge our public officials to reconsider their position on the Davis
case and stop what could be a horrific mistake.

On Friday, concerned Georgians will march in a funeral procession to
deliver a casket and petitions from over 140,000 people to the State
Board of Pardons and Paroles. The funeral represents the
metaphorical death of justice. Following that, a delegation of
clergy led by the Rev., Dr. Raphael Warnock will deliver a letter
signed by 100 Georgia clergy and 400 clergy from around the world to
the Governor's office.

We invite all to participate. Here is the schedule:

10:45am - activists meet at Johnny Rocket's – 50 Upper Alabama St SW,
30303. (near the old World of Coke and under the big whale mural, not
far from Underground Atlanta and 5 Points Marta). PLEASE WEAR BLACK.
We will then stage our funeral procession and deliver the petitions
gathered by Amnesty International

11:15am - Clergy meet on Capitol steps. They will then deliver a
letter to the Governor's office.

Note: none of the above activities are intended to be acts of civil
disobedience. They will all be peaceful expressions of our right to
freedom of expression.
