Need some sleuths. My sister in law is getting strange calls from

a company called Value Services near Atlanta. They even called us trying to get info on her. They wouldn't tell us what was their business with her, nor would the caller give his name. We said that until they were straight with us, we won't cooperate. Of course if they call again, we will hang up.

I need to know who they are, and if they are connected to the notorious Fredrick J Hanna. I also need to know if they are a legitimate company.

1. a little info

Reverse phone look up has the number's physical address being in Atlanta (not out in Winder - about 40 miles from Downtown ATL); also says the number is "unpublished" (all from whitepages.com).

Per the GA Secretary of State (gacorporations.org), here is the info listed for a company named "Value Services, Inc.":

All of the foregoing is public information. Note that the company's principal office address per the SOS's records is in Marietta (other side of town from Winder). Georgia law requires each entity to have a registered agent and in this case, the guy listed above is likely an attorney. You may want to check out the GA Bar's website directory (gabar.org) for his contact information and phone him directly.

Of course, the company bugging your sister could have another entity name and simply be "doing business as" Value Services.

On Edit: Winder is in Barrow County. You may want to check and see if there is a Barrow County Chamber of Commerce that can provide you with info on this company too.

I encourage you (and the sister) to keep a detailed phone log of when the calls occur and the company is seeking (if you can get a name from the caller too, that may be helpful). I would also ask them how in the hell they got your contact info - have you co-signed for your sister for any loans that may be past due, or some other kind of collection matter?

2. Thank you. It may not be my sister, it might be her ex wife pulling some

crap on her. I turned the info over to her. I think there's enough there for her to determine if the calls are legit.

They are some kind of courier service or process servers that attorneys use.

I realize that this is a bit late now though.
