Hirono says she'll run for office again

WASHINGTON — Former Lt. Gov. Mazie Hirono said yesterday that she intends to run for political office in the future, but has not decided which one.

Hirono spoke at a meeting of the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, where she encouraged women to "vote, run and lead."

Before her speech, Hirono said she had been on an extended hiatus from politics since losing her gubernatorial bid to Republican Linda Lingle in 2002.

Asked what the future holds for her, Hirono said, "I'm not done with politics."

2. Do you think he has any political ambitions "back home"?
I finally caught the guy giving a speech on CSPAN, and he's obviously a smart guy, experienced at being a general (which is not the same thing as being a governor). I was very impressed. Once again, it's just too damn bad that the Neocons wouldn't listen to anyone with actual experience who disagreed with their fantasy/ideology.

3. Is dogcatcher an elected office here?
That'd just about be her speed. It takes a special talent to take forty years of Dem tradition and piss it away in a few short months. Soon, pit bulls and Rottweilers across the island could find themselves on the receiving end of it...

Or, if we ever open a theme park here, we could use her as a tour guide, instead of those Animatronic devices they have at Disney
