I am so disappointed in Neil Abercrombie's vote
on the Endangered Species Act. I thought he was one of the good guys, at least he was when he was at UH.

HAWAII'S reputation as the endangered species capital of the world should stir its political leaders to do as much as they can to prevent further harm to the state's unique plants and animals.
Don't count Neil Abercrombie as one of them.

The congressman twice stained his bantam environmental credentials last week when he voted in favor of two measures, one to lift a decades-long ban on opening coastal areas for disruptive natural gas development and another to gut the 1973 Endangered Species Act.

2. i don't what is happening

he was always such a dependable liberal and so impressive during the 60's at the UH. Even tho I no longer live in HI, I have my roots there and was brought up w/ the knowledge that HI is home to so many species found nowhere else in the world. What is he thinking??? I just emailed him. Perhaps he'll answer.

HI is getting redder ; last year it was almost a swing state.

3. I've been reading the Hawaii forums
with a sinking feeling. I'm going to move back in a couple of years, only to The Big Island this time(I lived on Kauai from '92 to '98).

When I get over there..I plan to work hard to make it Bluer than Blue!

Fuck red..red is nowhere.

I'll be interested to learn what neil had to say about his judas votes.

6. Good , they need you over there

this person i know who does building for the govt. gushes over cheney " He's a cool, casual (?!) guy and I told him to work hard to get the Filipinos and Portuguese to vote Republican next time." Gush, gush. Lots like that over there.

Hey, Neil, I'll gladly pay your admission to Bishop Museum so you can see models of the species HI. has already lost.

5. I remember Neil way back when
he was so liberal that he even defended cock fighting. The natural gas thing may be defensible because we may really be screwed in that area, starting this winter. Prices here in PA are going up 30 - 40% now and will probably go up again in January. A long cold winter will definitely kill some people around here who just can't afford it.

The Endangered Species thing is more troubling. What is it, something like 90% of Hawaii's birds have already gone extinct?
