Will the neighbor islands close it for Akaka in the primary?
In the 2004 presidential race, Hawaii suddendly became competitive at the very end. However, the only island that was really competitive was O'ahu. Kerry's margin of victory on O'ahu was only slightly larger than Bush's. Had it not been for the neighbor islands, Kaua'i, Maui Country, and the Big Island, Kerry's win would have been significantly smaller. Kerry blew away Bush on these islands.

Will the same thing happen for Akaka? I am reading news articles stating that Case is really trying to focus his GOTV camapaign on the big population areas of O'ahu.

1. What's taking so long for AP to declare Akaka the winner?
Also, what's the status of Diebold/Triad/Sequoia machines on O'ahu?
