Aloha friends.
I am very interested in learning the Hawai'ian language, and would appreciate any useful links to learn it.

I have a very good friend that lives in Honolulu, and I would like to go visit him someday. We both went to college together, and I left college, and have maintained an occasional contact with him.

Fun! There's a lot of Hawaiian words in there from a conglomeration of people from all over the world trying to communicate early on the Hawaiian Islands.

I lived on Kauai from '92 to '98 and I'm goin' back in 2010..yay!

Here's da kine link.. http://www.extreme-hawaii.com/pidgin/

I grew up there but never heard it spoken. Now, however, they are teaching children the language.

Perhaps someone who lives there now can connect you with more resources.

Aloha and good luck!

5. Hi Hawkeye, we all speak English here. So come over and
take a class at KCC or an evening class, or pick up a CD. My son has been taking it for three years, and he's pretty fluent. Every now and again you hear people conversing in Hawaiian- like once or twice a year.

Aloha.
