A state representative from West Maui allegedly approached a plainclothes police officer outside a Kapiolani Park restroom and groped his crotch, police said.

Rep. Brian K. Blundell (R, Olowalu-Kapalua) was arrested for fourth-degree sexual assault, a misdemeanor offense, for an incident which allegedly took place at 11:15 p.m. across from the Diamond Head Tennis Center, 3908 Paki Ave....

Police said that particular restroom, which is known as the "Paki bathrooms," is well-known among officers (and, apparently, repukes -Ed.) as one of the places where sexual solicitation happens often late at night....

Gunfunnit! If only he were Austrian, they could run him for governor... </sarcasm>

Gov. Linda Lingle is supporting the re-election of Republican state Rep. Brian Blundell, who was arrested last week for allegedly groping the crotch of an undercover police officer...

On Thursday, Honolulu police arrested the first-term lawmaker under suspicion of fourth-degree sexual assault, a misdemeanor. Police said Blundell approached a plainclothes police officer outside a Kapiolani Park restroom and groped the officer's crotch. The officer was in the area because of complaints about homosexual advances, police said....

Democratic Party officials were talking to three possible candidates for Blundell's House seat yesterday and are confident at least one of them will file nomination papers, said Donalyn Dela Cruz, Democratic Party of Hawaii spokeswoman.

:wtf: were we doing leaving a seat uncontested in the first place?! We're the majority party in this state, not the groping repukes, for crying out loud! :grr:
