Unfathomable: Repuke platform includes Hawaiian rights
http://starbulletin.com/2004/09/02/news/index7.html (scroll down)

The platform adopted by the Republican National Convention this week includes references of support for native Hawaiians, but there is no reference to them in the platform adopted at the Democratic National Convention.

The GOP platform includes a plank supporting American Indians and native Hawaiians and calling for preservation of their culture and language, Gov. Linda Lingle, who is attending the convention in New York City, said yesterday.

So I guess this means that repuke Senators will stop stalling on the Akaka bill (native Hawaiian sovereignty), right?

And that repuke/Federalist Society judges will stop chipping away at Federal programs that serve native Hawaiians, right?

(chirp chirp chirp)

(leaves rustle in breeze)

That's what I thought.

2. And Meanwhile DC residents STILL have no representation...
They probably figure it will be easier to turn Hawaii to the dark side than DC.

3. should say "calling for anything that makes them look good'
"Calling for preservation of culture and language" ...pure shibai!
By greenlighting the Stryker devastation to the environment?
(BTW: anti-Stryker group at the Native Hawaiian Rights rally in
Waikiki on Labor Day, September 6th. The anti-Stryker contingent is being
organized by DMZ-Hawaii Aloha Aina.)
