Any chance of Eric Shinseki running for office in Hawaii? |

He is a Democrat. Could he be a candidate for either governor or Senator in 2006. I don't know where Lingle's numbers are right now, but if Akaka retires I think Shinseki could be a strong candidate.

I haven't seen any press reports or articles indicating his interest in running for electoral office. I could not see him running for the governor's seat, but maybe for the US Senate.
I also have not read any literature indicating Akaka would retire.
Hell, I am suprised as hell Inouye ran for the US Senate this year - he is getting pretty darn old.
There is not a chance in hell Akaka would lose his seat. Not even Lingle could take him out.
