DC/MD/NoVA get-together for Fahrenheit 9/11?
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 10:53 AM by Southpaw Bookworm
I just wanted to throw this out there for consideration. Would anyone be interested in gathering a group of DC-area DUers together to go see the Moore's latest? Among the places it's playing (and indeed, the only place in VA) is the Cinema Arts Theatre in Fairfax (http://www.cinemaartstheatre.com/), which happens to be close to my abode. In DC, it's at the Avalon.

Just a thought -- let me know what y'all think.

Edit: Just found this info on their Web site:

Advanced Ticket Notice!

Advanced Tickets for Fahrenheit 9/11 go on sale at the Cinema Arts Theatre box office on Friday, June 11. The movie opens at Cinema Arts Theatre on June 25. Showtimes will be: 12:00, 2:25, 4:50, 7:40, and 9:50

1. Doesn't is open on the 25th?
I will be in Alexandria that weekend (going up to see Van Halen at the MCI!) and would be very interested, if my husband and I can work it in. I definitely want so see the film and it would be fun to see with fellow DU'ers. Keep me in mind, I'll see what I can work out!

Thanks!

2. I'd like to do it.
I'm on Maryland's Eastern Shore, but I'm planning to make the trip across the Bay to see it (I don't anticipate it playing on the Shore, but maybe I'm wrong...).

The peace group I volunteer for here, however, is trying to get a copy of the movie to show here in Easton. We showed "Bowling for Columbine" last October for free (well, we asked for donations) and had well over 200 people show up to see it.

Regardless, it'd be cool to meet up with some DU'ers to see the new movie later this month. Please keep me in the loop.
