Best Western (Falls Church, Virginia) - plenty of rooms @$80/night!
Phone (703) 532-9000

2 1/2 miles from the Falls Church Metro stop- bus station right in front of hotel.

About a 30 minute Metro ride into D.C.

Plenty of restaurants, stores, etc. close by (the hotel is on Arlington Blvd. - Rt. 50)

Hope this helps!

1. Another option...
Contact Twin Oaks and/or Acorn communities.(google them)

They are communes near Charlottesville Va. (close to DC). I think they would be happy to accomodate any with bedrolls. There will be chartered (but cheap) buses leaving from Charlottesville for DC, and many Twin Oaks/Acorn people will be going. And don't be intimidated by the hippy thing. They are a very diverse bunch and you will be completely comfortable. Many town folk will be going as well.

I know there is also a place in the town of Charlottesville. I can't remember the name but it's a house that hosts activists for just such events. I stayed there once for a pre-war protest and was perfectly comfortable (I'm not a hippy). And they refused to take any money, but definitely offer. Inquiring at Twin Oaks will get you the name of the place and contact info. Again, you'll need to bring a bed roll.

3. Charlottesville is NOT close to DC
From C-ville to the Vienna Metro station, which is the farthest from the city and thus the closest to C-ville, is at least two hours' drive.

4. I live in Cville -- two hours if there is NO traffic and you speed a bit
Then, at least 30 minutes Vienna Metro to the Mall area, then a good walk. I do this pretty often.

Twin Oaks is even further away.

2. Those rooms may be bugged by Neoconistas. Be sure to sweep them.
