Subject: Support our troops this Sunday in Washington

Friends, your help is needed!

This weekend several groups are organizing a large rally in support of our troops fighting to protect our freedoms around the world.

We need you to reach out to your friends, family, and supporters and ask them to attend the rally on Sunday September 25th from Noon to 3pm on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. We want to show our troops that America stands behind them and their mission.

Whether you have a family member or friend serving in the military or don't personally know anyone serving, there is nothing more important than showing our troops how much we support what they are doing for Americans and citizens of other nations.

If you have any questions, please visit the website www.supportthetroopsweekend.org or contact Karen at OperationIraqiHope@gmail.com . She can assist you with any logistical support or answer any questions you may have.

Please do all that you can to support this rally and our troops. Thank you in advance.

Sunday, September 25
12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Rally to honor military families on the Mall

4th Street, NW
Washington, DC
(near the Air and Space Museum)

If you have a group of 10 or more and need transportation to the event, please call Karen at OperationIraqiHope@yahoo.com .

1. Their "large" counter-protests...
are usually quite amusing - the signs outnumber the people!

11. There's an email address to ask for a ride if you have 10 or more people
I'm sure people have (or can get) "disposable" email addresses to request rides for their imaginary friends...

2. It's Interesting That The Right-Wing March Is In Support Of The Troops
With nary a mention for support of the war. The Saturday march is a protest of the war -- NOT a protest against the troops.

7. .
It's their usual tactic to frame the debate.
Or actually, they may be just really stupid and delusional.

9. They have to keep saying that
we protest against the "troops". It's the only thing that makes what they support feel right to them. I wonder if it ever crossed their minds that they're marching to keep Americans dying for no reason. Or maybe they're all like that freeper lady on the news last spring that said she would be wearing a burka if not for our troops in Iraq.

3. Operation Hopeless
Join us in a rally to show our support for Bush's poll numbers! Leave truth behind for a weekend as we rally 'round the flag and call for more tax cuts in the wake of unprecedented natural and man-made disaster which is bankrupting our nation!

Please make sure your loyalty oaths are pre-signed to expedite (that means "speed up" to you freepers lurking) your official registration, bar-coding and tracking.

Thank you. Praise Bush.

4. Iraqi Hope?
They're practically admitting that the situation is bleak, and all we can do is hope.

Since when did Americans REALLY care about the social/political development of another nation. Before the Iraq Wars, most Americans didn't give a rat's ass about Iraq. I'd even venture that they don't right now, that it's more about saving face at this point, and not having to deal with the uncomfortable fact that their loved ones may have died for NOTHING.

The games' up, military families. We lost this war, it was worthless from the beginning, it was illegal from the beginning, it was unnecessary from the beginning, and your children were used for NOTHING. Live with it. We don't want to continue this war just to appease your "hopes" for a good resolution to this conflict.

Bush proclaims Sunday 9/25 is "Gold Star Mother's Day"

Bush's PR counter-offensive? What's the Chimp up to here?

WASHINGTON - President Bush paid tribute to the nation's Gold Star mothers on Wednesday, honoring the deaths of their sons and daughters in the military as activists began gathering for an Iraq anti-war protest on Saturday.

Bush proclaimed Sunday as Gold Star Mother's Day and instructed that the U.S. flag be flown over government buildings. He also urged Americans to display the flag as well.

"On Gold Star Mother's Day, we recognize and pray for the devoted and patriotic mothers of these men and women in uniform who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our liberty," the president said in his proclamation.

Separately, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan arrived in Washington after a three-week cross-country bus tour that began near Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, was killed last year in Iraq, is co-founder of Gold Star Families for Peace.

a support the troops really.
