Do any DC Duers listen to Kojo Nnamdi on WAMU?

He is moderating the discussion at the Premiere of our film at the Silverdocs festival. I don't know much about him, but the folks at Silverdocs tell us he is very progressive. I am interested in any impressions people have of him.

1. Kojo++

Kojo is great. His show is on WAMU from noon until 2 every weekday. He does some neat features like the Computer Guys on the first tuesday of the month and the DC Politics Hour every friday. IIRC his show is like Diane Rehm's, which comes right before it: 1 hour of national-interest which is carried by a lot of NPR member stations, and one hour of more local-interest stuff. Kojo and Diane are both great interviewers and have a way of asking very intelligent questions that prompt a real response from whoever they are interviewing.

I don't know if I've ever seen Kojo let his own politics come out in a show so I'm not sure what he believes. But the topics he chooses are definitely on the progressive side. I think he's pro-statehood too but it may just be that the only guests he can get who care enough to talk about the District for an hour are all pro-statehood. And he definitely does social justice shows.

2. That' s about the same as we hear from everyone.

Our film takes on the traditional African-American establishment, the press, and apathetic voters , among others, so we were initially concerned whether he would be to much of a pro-establishment person. It seems like he is very intelligent and will give ideas and positions a fair shake.
