So, I was the lone D.U.er at Kelly's Irish Times. I'm sitting at the bar cooling my heels, drinking a beer (well, ok, it was a beer and a whiskey, but what the hell, my feet hurt) and minding my own business. The guy next to me finishes his beer and stands up to put on his coat. I've got "U.S. out of Iraq" stickers on my coat and a "no W" button, etc. The guy asks "You go to the march?"
"Yep"
"How was it" he asks.
"It was awesome, you go?"
"No" the guy says, "I'm with Fox News, and . . .".
"Neh" I said, reflexively dismissing him, thinking that he was going to start something.
"Yeah, I know, I know, but I've been embedded in Iraq three times." he says.
"No shit!"
"Don't quote me on this: It's fucked up over there." The guy says, and walks away without another word.
Sorry dude, I'm not really "quoting" you because I can't remember your name. Must be really frustrating to do a job of discovering truth and reality only to have your employer bury it in the back yard.
