Dear Friends,
While our brave soldiers fight a war in Iraq, the voting rights of hundreds of thousands of Americans are being denied right here in the nation’s capital.
This is no abstract issue to us here at Twenty-First Century Democrats. I and 50% of our staff live in DC and do not have the right to vote for a member of Congress and two Senators like the rest of the country.
Currently, more than 500,000 Americans living in our nation's capital have no vote in Congress to represent their interests. We have no vote on whether we go to war or not, no vote on jobs, no vote for health care, no vote on how the taxes we pay are spent by the U.S. Congress, no vote on any issues before Congress.
But thousands of Americans are standing up for their fellow citizens of Washington by joining in the March for Voting Rights on April 16th, 2007. I am asking you to join this Voting Rights March.
If you cannot make it to the March, please forward this message to everyone you know who may be able to attend. We need to demonstrate to Congress that denying anyone their rights is unacceptable.

http://www.congressweb.com/cweb4/index.cfm?orgcode=dcv&hotissue=2. Since we don’t have a voice in Congress, please be our voice with your Congress member.
The mission of 21st Century Democrats is to be the catalyst for a new movement in the United States to elect bold forward-thinking leaders. We seek out, train, and support extraordinary visionary leaders who are courageous risk-takers and who inspire Americans to take action. Help make sure that all Americans can join us in this movement.
Please attend the Voting Rights March and forward this email to everyone you know. Thank you for all your help,
Kelly Young
