my first visit to DC

my son and i are going to be there 2-28-09 through Monday 3-2-09. Any hints about the best place to go? any peace activity going on this coming weekend? thanks....

1. Wander around the National Mall, where you'll have access to museums.

Check Washington Post for 'events.' Their Saturday edition has WEEKEND section, listing LOTS of things to do.

3. Once you're done walking around,

check out the Gallery Place/Chinatown area. There's a restaurant called Matchbox near 7th and H Street, NW, and they have the best pizza I've had in ages! Depending on your wallets it's a tiny bit pricy but well worth it (around $12-15). If you're in the mood for Chinese, head down to Chinatown Express on 6th Street (one block down), and they have the best food at a very good price! If you're able to get one of the specials by all means go for it! Have fun, be safe, and have a great time!
