So I am moving to the DC Area...
After 8 months, my husband finally re-enters the employed sector! The job means we are going to relocate from Atlanta (Va/Hi) to someplace...Not sure where we are going to live yet. He leaves on Sunday, starts the job Tuesday and will look for places to rent. The job is in Herndon Va, but we would like to live closer to the DC. (hopefully Alexandria) We are looking at a reverse commute.

I'm Nervous, scared, happy & excited all at the same time.

I will be here, packing the rest of the house up until he finds a place. Any great places to hang?

1. I've had clients in Herndon, and I would strongly advise NOT moving
to Maryland. The commute is atrocious. If you have a chance, look in Herndon, Reston and some of those areas.

Will the job be off the Dulles Toll Road?

Congratulations to your husband on the new job!

2. Update:
We are here! I suspect this is now officially in the wrong forum, but I wanted to update for the few that may read here.

We found a lovely place in Alexandria and are slowly getting settled in. Today is going to be sunny and 60 so I am heading to a few museums!

4. How's he getting to work?
I used to make a commute to Reston from Woodbridge, which is a bit further than Alexandria but it would be pretty much the same idea if he got tired of fighting traffic. He could catch the Metro (probably at King Street or Braddock Road I'd imagine) to West Falls Church, and from that station are buses to the Reston area, primarily Sunset Hills and Sunrise Valley if I remember right, and the Reston Town Center. Driving can be stressful around here, so there's other options. :)
