Please join Public Citizen in holding corporate power accountable at events on Thursday and Friday this week.
Tomorrow, Public Citizen’s president, Robert Weissman, and a broad coalition of organizations will rally in support of taxing financial speculation on Wall Street.
Here are the details:
What: Rally for taxing Wall Street greed and march to the Treasury Department
When: Thursday, November 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: The rally is at Lafayette Park (Pennsylvania Ave. and Jackson Pl. NW) followed by a march to the Treasury (1111 20th St. NW)
Friday afternoon, Public Citizen will join with several organizations for a demonstration outside of the gala for Americans for Prosperity, a corporate front group funded by the infamous billionaire Koch brothers.
Here are the details:
What: Food, festivities and a “guerrilla drive-in” (short videos that expose the Koch brothers’ corporate agenda will be shown in an outdoor location during their meeting)
When: Friday, November 4, at 6 p.m. Movies will start at 7 p.m.
Where: Washington Convention Center parking lot at 7th St. and L St., entrance at 1025 7th St. NW (1 block south of Mt. Vernon/Convention Center Metro)
