but not DC. Why am I posting here? Well, I'm trying to get over there for the inauguration protest and for the PDA Summit. I'm working over the 6th, so I can't come out there then so the counterinauguration is the next best. I'm trying to get out there on the cheap. I'm going to fly but the hotels are eye-poppingly expensive in your neck of the woods so I was wondering if anyone has couch space I could crash on or any ideas about where I might find inexpensive housing (a hostel or something).

:hi: i was in dc last year, if you get on the outskirts and look around, you can find a motel reasonable.

there is a hostel downtown, close to everything http://www.hiwashingtondc.org/ and it's pretty nice, as american hostels go.

Have you tried Craigslist? lots of young DC people use it.

don't get too hyped about the protests for the inaguration, this city will be under lockdown, I'm afraid.
