Naming rights to RFK Stadium?

I remember Mayor Anthony Williams stating that when the new stadium was built for the Nationals, the city would call the new stadium RFK Stadium and invite the Kennedy family to be at the first game.

Today, I heard on the news (Sorry I can't find a link) that the US ARMY wanted to purchase the naming rights to RFK stadium. The Stadium already HAS a name!

I have seen the way this Republican controlled Congress works. They don't let lack of jurisdiction stop them. I saw them rename Washington National Airport IN VIRGINIA!!! I saw them force Arlington County (IN VIRGINIA) to rename a Metro Stop.

They seem to want to remove memorials to dead presidents and replace them with memorials to Republicans, or -- remove a Dem name and sell the naming rights. The finances of the District are controlled by this Republican Congress. Congress CAN force DC to sell the name if they decide to.

What are they going to do next? Rename the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts?

These guys are getting way out of hand. What are we gonna do about it?

Who wants to buy the naming rights to the Reagan Building?

1. Stadium would not be renamed....

This is a sponsorship deal to raise money. The field would be named for the sponsor. The stadium would remain RFK Memorial Stadium.

Don't forget, Bush wanted to decommission the USS John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier - not even the oldest non-nuclear powered carrier.
