who else is kinda excited by the coming plague? I hear in places it can get kinda biblical!
Me, I'm having a little party to eat them (rumours are they are tasty simmered in butter) any one else have plans?

I remember going down to Rock Creek Park 17 years back, and their was a literal symphony of Cicadas so loud, my friend & I could barely hear each other...
I thought it was pretty cool really...

I can't tell if you're joking. I mean, I assume you're joking about the eating part. But I'm not sure.
Personally, I'm looking forward to the cicadas with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. Anyone know if they do anything other than swarm around? Is there anything to be afraid of?

You may have sold me wine. The DU office used to be right across the street from there, above Zorba's Greek Cafe.
Now we're over near 17th and R. So I haven't been to Best Cellars in about a year. But I'm frequently over in that part of town. Maybe I'll stop into a tasting. How often are you there?

Actually, I think I'll pass on the locusts. The District offers no shortage of culinary options, this being one that doesn't necessarily appeal to me. I live a block from the Park - so I'm fully expecting them to roll up the hill like some Biblical plague.
