Please Help David Gill, IL-15
Be picked as a Progressive Patriot. He needs the money to oust the incumbent Re-thug Tim Johnson. He has a good chance to win.

3. Just voted for Gill
I'm not sure Gill has all that great of a shot though. Granted he did get 39% of the vote last time, but that's still alot to overcome. Plus I didn't realize this and still kind of doubt it, but I guess Johnson is somewhat of a moderate in Congress. At least the Club for Growth listed him in their top ten House Republicans who need to be ousted.

I would welcome polling info on the race, but I think this seat may be close to unwinnable. His district even includes some counties that voted for Keyes in 2004.

4. Much as I dislike Johnson he's not as bad as others.
I LOVE David Gill. He's an awesome guy and one of the hardest working candidates I have ever seen. Having said all that, I will also say that David is in a district that is a real killer to cover and a difficult one for Dems to win. The bulk of the voters are located in two counties, but this district is drawn to favor the GOP and there is no way to deny it.

An additional issue at work here is the fact that Johnson has not voted the straight GOP line on everything. In fact, his Labor votes have actually been pretty good. We have Locals in the area who give him money, and we have seen some very real arguments about endorsements in Johnson's races. I am not making this up, but one Labor guy looked me in the eye and said, "Laura, Tim Johnson calls me back when I call him. I'm going to support him just for that." I was sucking air...

Johnson is noted for his service to constituents, and he's known for campaigning 24/7/365. The running gag in some circles is that you can't have a weenie roast without Johnson showing up for it.

It is a good thing David works it as hard as he does because Johnson is a formidable incumbent candidate.

Regards!

Laura

6. Johnson has answered only one letter
That I sent him last year, and it took 8 months to get a response.

He still voted to extend the war with no time table.

I've actually met some folks at the Urbana Dem booth who said they voted for Tim Johnson, but because of the war and other matters, they are switchin' their votes to Gill.

Sad thing is that Duckworth and Bean are getting all of the attention.
