The so called liberal press in Kane County
In a pathetic attempt to look non-partisan today the Kane County Chronicle http://www.kcchronicle.com/ made two endorsements today. First they endorsed Topinka for Gov, no big surprise, they have never in my 20+ years in St Charles endorsed a Democrat a race at the top of the ticket. In fact the only way a Democrat typically gets endorsed is if they are a shoe in. The best part is they also endorsed Pat Quinn for Lt Governor. Are they aware that you vote for Gov and Lt Gov as a team? You can not in any way vote for both Topinka and Pat Quinn? What a bunch of partisan hacks!

1. Didn't see the Chronicle today.
Actually, I haven't seen it at all while I've been on vacation(in and out of town a couple of times). How have they been treating Hastert the past couple of weeks? I was in Montreal when the whole Foley Folly broke, and it was news up there.

Typically, I find the Chronicle to be not exactly Progressive, but not so conservative either.

2. Used to work
For the KCC's sister publication, the NW Herald. And yes, the management is a bunch of hacks. The powers that be have basically crushed the morale of those places, and that most of the writers and editors with any talent have left. And those that haven't have been fired (usually for demanding to be treated like the professionals they are) or laid off/made freelancers to save money. Or brow-beaten into submission.

And yes, I am a little bitter.
