"DEMO IN THE BURBS" Saturday, March 17, 2007 - 3 pm

Local Peace groups have decided to schedule a rally in Bloomingdale at 3pm Sat. March 17th. We'll gather in a nearby park for an hour rally, and then march to a standing vigil in a great high profile location along Bloomingdale Rd. More info to follow!

RALLY: 2:30pm at Old Town Park, Bloomingdale
(1 block West and South of Lake St. & Bloomingdale Rd.)
We'll gather to rally at Old Town Park in Bloomingdale, blocks from Congressman Peter Roskam's office. Join us for song, spoken word and rousing speeches from community, faith and labor leaders - addressing hundreds expected to join the rally.

MARCH: 3:30-3:45pm
(West side of Bloomingdale Rd, Southbound to Schick Rd)
We'll march 4 blocks south, down Bloomingdale Road, to Peter Roskam's office - to raise our voices unmistakably for peace. Bring colorful signs and banners with peace messages.

VIGIL: 3:45-4:30pm, outside Congressman Roskam's office
(Southwest corner of Bloomingdale Rd. and Schick Rd, in Bloomingdale)
We'll hold standing vigil along sidewalks at Peter Roskam's office, presenting our peace message (and Honk for Peace message) to heavy auto traffic passing by. The visual and audible call for peace will be clear and unmistakable for all to hear.

Join with people of conscience, peacemakers, students, families, labor advocates, every faith and ethnic group, young and old together to say - now is the time to stop this war.

I got there early to give out stopIranWar.com buttons. It was pretty nice at first, but got colder as the clouds moved in. I couldn't march because I have a bum foot right now.
