Faced with a rising suburban Democratic tide, Republican state Rep. Paul Froehlich jumped ship Monday and left behind the Schaumburg GOP organization he controlled for nearly a decade.

Edited to add: I think we have a growing base of DEM voters. The county political structure is entrenched publican. With just a little investigative reporting though, I think the stink uncovered would cause the voters to want a change. County govt is corrupt here.

i thought rubin was a really good candidate.
i still love howard dean's- wait, you might just be a democrat. so many out there like that. i remember my BIL, had a good job as a tool maker. thought he didn't need that stupid union charging him dues. i think he is making the same money now that he did then. st ronnie sure did trash and smash the unions out there.

survival instinct, dunno, but there is just something wrong with this picture.
Yes, I'm a bit of a purist. With the broad changes sweeping the party and the standards of ethics being demanded as the scale we measure ourselves against, the parties of old just don't apply anymore.

I will not accept hypocrisy, nor do most of the humans I regard as responsible voices. War-mongering, cloaked as bringing freedom, undue interference in foreign governments, support of terrorism (yes, the US has been and is a big sponsor of terrorism-look at the governments we've toppled and the nastiness surrounding them.)

The long history of half truths, outright lies, treating the American public as poorly developed eight-year-olds, os and on, is coming to an end.

With that in mind, that this ain't your grampa's democratic party, I don't think this man should be allowed or welcomed.
Maybe he should go through some initiation rites, build a pyramid at Abu Ghraib or eat worms or something.

We demand a standard of ethics and morals that rapeblickers, as a general rule, just can't qualify for. We don't need all these publickers in democratic clothing, playing turncoat so they can remain in politics and taint it with their peculiar brand of eco-poison.

I have a suggestion: We help these quislings to form their own party, in protest of the deep doodoo that the neo-clowns and their confederates are spreading around. It's a trial party and we will commit to providing some assistance and ethical leadership for them, as well as some support for their legislative agenda, if it's progressive enough.

Let's call it the "Democrat" party, separate and distinct from the Democratic or Republican parties, but with some blue-dog identify of its own. This should also put an end to the nasty habit of wingnuts of being insulting by corrupting the name of "democratic" while whining about imagined mistreatment by us and whimpering about not "unnastanin' it."

9. No way FROELICH

this is a fox in the hen house. I have met this guy and have enough inside information of him. Take a look deeper in his STAR Schaumburg Township area Republicans involvement. A member of this organization sued the incumbent library board member to get her off a ballot. Debby Miller, D of Schaumburg. Low and behold a few years later who is on the library board....Mrs. Froelich. I wouldn't trust this guy for a second. Look up Anthony Maurice (star member) suing Debby Miller a few years back. I have watched him storm out of Union get togethers in the area because he is truly a Republican and cannot change.
