there are so many deaniacs running and campaigning in northern illinois. i find it just amazing.
so, i know you were a hillary supporter, but are the folks in your group involved at all in the illinois to iowa obama group? folks from here are going out every other week. so, going to davenport on saturday. trying to noodge the folks i know out your way.

11. I was at the Lee County central committee meeting

for July. They had an Obama person who represents the Illinois to Iowa group for the 14th District. (Lee is in the 14th, Foster's).

I e-mailed this lady and told her to find the people who work with those of us in 16th. I want one of them at our August meeting. She is still trying to answer my question. If that does not work, I will find out Saturday if some of the Rockford people are going, and send my interested people to them.

One of the things I find encouraging is the enthusiasm and involvement of the Young Democrats of America. I went to DeKalb to visit Ryan Gailey, our candidate for the 35th State Senate seat. He is a second year law student, and a sergeant in the National Guard. His office is staffed by Young Democrats. I learned more about them, and they are terrific. They are starting a chapter at Kishwaukee College. I hope we can get something going at Sauk Valley CC, too.

Our next central committee meeting is August 14th. Convenient, eh? I will have to prepare the agenda and everything for the meeting before I leave for Springfield. Our secretary does NOTHING.

14. I was a Clinton supporter, but I kept it strictly neutral at

all central committee events. I was vocal here, and in my own household, but that was all.

Now I am an Obama supporter. There was never any question about supporting the nominee. I was born and bred a Democrat. My parents taught me how to be a team player.

If I go, it'll be for the whole day's worth. Doesn't look like davsand can get off work that day, but I may be bringing Material Girl. She's only 11, but she's been campaigning since she was in the womb, so she might enjoy it.

I have to stop by Durbin's campaign office and see one of his aides about something.

We are thinking about going to one of the events the evening before. There is a barbecue at the governor's mansion, and the Sangamon County Democrats are having an event, too. I don't know yet what we want to do. There will be several choices.
