from my favorite not elected candidate-
Just when you thought the elections were over . . .
As you probably already know, Rep. Rahm Emanuel will resign his 5th district Congressional seat to serve as Chief of Staff for the Obama administration. Shortly after Rep. Emanuel tenders his formal resignation, a special election will be held to choose his replacement.
The field of hopefuls is impressive. Many of the aspirants are talented and experienced public servants. There is one, however, that stands out and deserves your support.
Mike Quigley has served as Cook County Commissioner for the 10th district for 10 years. In a recent column in the Sun Times, Mark Brown wrote, "Quigley is the one who really jumps out of the pack to me as somebody who has advanced good ideas, maintained his independence and battled for his beliefs."
It’s true. Whether the issue is TIF reform, public health or land preservation, Mike has fought for us. He is the rare voice of independence and accountability and will be an asset to us as our next Congressman. He's got my vote. He deserves yours, too.

I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
