I'd like to urge the 'he's not been convicted of anything' crowd to remember something...

I'll be the first to concede that the governor hasn't been convicted of anything yet and remains' innocent until proven guilty'. That said...
Impeachment is a purely political matter and, as such, carries no criminal sanctions of any kind. There is nothing whatsoever contradictory in defending the governor's legal presumption of innocence while at one and the same time demanding that he be impeached and convicted.
Just thought I'd mention this...

1. At the same time, remember |

That the problem with an impeachment hearing is that in order to actually investigate they are going to have to step on a LOT of toes when it comes to a federal criminal investigation. Fitzgerald is not going to be too happy if the impeachment investigation inadvertently leaks out something that may damage his ability to prosecute.
In fact the one thing that may help blago is that apparently Fitzgerald is so early in his investigation that he hadn't even gone to a grand jury yet. How long was the Plame investigation before a GJ indicted?

2. Fitz seems to be cooperating with the committee. |

He's apparently given them an outline of what they can and can't delve into. Tactically speaking, it would be to his advantage to have Blago out of office, since it's Blago's biggest 'hole card' right now.
