7:30 at City Hall. They're going to need people for things to help out on Tuesday. I'm going (first time).
Here's the info:
Hello Naperville Democrats -
It's hard to imagine that we're just days away from what may well be the most important election of our lifetime. To all of you who have worked tirelessly over the past months (years!), thank you. You are all an inspiration to those of us who are trying to grow the Democratic Party in Naperville.
But we have important races here in DuPage County as well - and we desperately need your help to sprint to the finish line on Tuesday. Tomorrow night is our final meeting before the election, and it is important we have as many people as possible show up.
Where: Naperville Municipal Building (400 S. Eagle Street, Naperville, across from Naper Settlement). Ground floor, look for signs in the building.
When: 7:30pm, Thursday, October 28 (that's tomorrow!)
(After the meeting, several of us will head to the Red Door Tavern for a few beers; please join us!)
Here's what we will cover:
* Final chance to meet our candidates
* Poll watchers: we will assign poll watching duties for each polling place in Naperville (we will have credentials at the meeting)
* Final shipment of Kerry/Edwards yard signs. For those who've asked recently, we apologize for the delay. But demand has greatly exceeded supply! We have 60 signs to distribute tomorrow night. We need these to be at polling places on Tuesday, but there's no reason they can't be in yards throughout Naperville before then! (But if you do take a sign, please arrange with us tomorrow night to have your sign at a polling place Tuesday morning.)
* Final precinct updates: we've made tremendous progress since our last meeting knocking on thousands of doors, but there's still work to be done. If you have time this weekend, consider volunteering to help cover one of the remaining few precincts that doesn't yet have a precinct captain.
* Finance update: we've done a great job building a fundraising foundation for the group; we'll fill you in on what we've done to date and what our goals are moving forward.
Finally, we'll discuss plans for our largest party yet (it'll be in December). How much we are celebrating depends in part on how much we can do between now and Tuesday - so please come by tomorrow night and help us turn Naperville BLUE!
We're almost there - imagine the newspaper articles we'll see when we get our local candidates elected, and demonstrate how far the Democratic party has come in such a short period of time. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow night!
Regards,
Rick
