Peoria Journal Star: Matt Hale sentencing scheduled for April 6
http://www.pjstar.com/stories/020205/TRI_B5FHPLBB.049.shtml

"CHICAGO (CNS) - Matt Hale, the avowed white supremacist who was convicted of soliciting a federal judge's murder, will be sentenced at a hearing that is scheduled to begin April 6 in Chicago.

Hale's sentencing had been postponed as the U.S. Supreme Court considered two cases dealing with the way federal judges impose penalties. Under a ruling the high court issued last month, the judges do not have to conform rigidly to federal sentencing guidelines.

It isn't known how the decision will affect Hale's case. A jury last April convicted the 33-year-old East Peorian of soliciting violence and obstructing justice. He encouraged an undercover FBI operative in late 2002 to kill a U.S. District Court judge. Hale has been jailed since January 2003."

1. Mr. Hale will go away for a long, LONG time, I assure you.
Soliciting the murder of a judge will not be viewed with a merciful eye, I wager.

2. A man is convicted of soliciting a political murder --
and what do we hear about in the MSM? Petersen, Jackson, Bryant!

Why wasn't this trial televised and splashed across the headlines?

4. Wasn't that the judge in the copyright case?

I think he wanted the judge killed who was sitting on the case where somebody sued claiming Hale's church used a name that was protected--am I right?

Not only had he been in and out of court to try and get a law license in the state of Illinois, but one of his "followers" had gone on killing spree too. I'm thinking that Hale was in court over the whole name thing, however.

A guy I know came up with this idea for a marching permit for Hale and his group when they came to town. His suggestion was that they be allowed to march but it should be required they all wear a marching permit displayed on the front of their shirts at all times during the march.

This was his design for the permit:

He also suggested that the city notify Mr Hale of a newly implemented pilot program that provides target rifles and ammo in troubled areas of town.

At the time I flinched. I have to admit, however, that the more I learn about that group and other like it the more I wonder...
