http://www.illinois.gov/gov/stateofstate2005.cfmThroughout the entire thing, the closest he gets to Chicago is mentioning expanding O'Hare and he mentions Pilsen in some stupid quote about "Because whether you live in Pilsen, Plainfield, Peoria or Pinckneyville, all of us want the same things: a good job, a good education, access to health care, time with our family."
The thing that really gets me going is the fact that he mentions plans for highway after highway and even talks about building a new airport in Peotone, but not ONCE does he mention the CTA. Chicago transportation is just as important than all these highways around the state. In some cases even more important because some people can not afford cars and depend on the CTA to get them to their jobs, their kids to school, and many other things. Perhaps he just takes Chicago for granted. While I don't want to see a Republican take over the governor's spot, I'm not pleased that Rod doesn't seem to care about his hometown.
There's something to be said about trying to look like a downstate governor by not focusing on Chicago so much, but not at all? That's just absurd. Many of you know that I have been hesitant about the governor, but I'm quickly moving over to the disgruntled about Blago camp.
