5. Have a topic in mind for the next one?
Or are we thinking too far ahead into the future? :D

6. Actually, yes.
I've toyed with the idea of a look at the 'private' Abraham Lincoln-- not the public man, but the private man.

:)

7. Are you TRYING to read my mind?
Or does it just come naturally, because so far, you're hitting all the right notes! lol

8. I ran across sooooo many new sources doing my research.
People around this area are the descendants of people who actually knew Lincoln, and it seems like every third family 'just happens to have' some old letters, or a post card, or a book he inscribed and gave as a gift, etc. . Some of them are fascinating.

:)

9. I used to have a copy of one of Lincoln's letters.
My mom's poli-sci professor at the school I go to now knew I was a big history buff (and this was when I was around 5 or 6) and made a copy of a brief letter Lincoln wrote to a friend for me. I was so excited, but kids being kids, I didn't take very good care of it. I haven't seen it in about 15 years, so it probably got lost in one of the many moves my mom and I made over the years. I sometimes wonder whatever happened to it.

10. Some of Lincoln's letter provide fascinating insights into the man.
The real Lincoln is sooooooo much more interesting than the textbook/Hollywood Lincoln could ever hope to be.

:)

11. I'd love to see that kind of Lincoln bio.
Have you read Truman or John Adams by David McCullough? McCullough is SO good at getting deep insights into these almost mythic figures, writing what they really were as living, breathing human beings. I'd love to see a treatment like that of Lincoln.
