What's Your Favorite Building In Chicago?
I've got to go with the John Hancock Center.

It's impossible for me to get tired of looking at it. :)

2. The University of Chicago Cathedral.
And since I am not Christian, that is saying something.
But it was nealy acoustically perfect when I was in an early music concert there in the early 80's, and beautiful to boot.

4. As horrible as it is,

I'd have to include the Lion House at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The acoustics in that building are very strange. When standing in certain places, you can hear the conversations of other people who are far away like they are standing next to you.

edit: hey, two 'acoustic' votes so far!

8. Museum of Science and Industry
simply because of its history.

When I was a little girl, I had a feeling it was old when I was inside, but I'd had no idea that it was part of the "White City" of the Columbian Exposition until years later.

It gives me chills thinking of all the history in some of Chicago's architecture. Wish I was closer to enjoy it more.

Instead I live in nouveau riche hell. Anything with history at all is torn down.

9. The building next to the Prudential Tower...with the spire on top.
I don't know the name of it, but whenever I see it, I'm reminded of the Chrysler Building. Retro, but modern at the same time. I'm obviously not an architect, so I can't describe it in design terms. But it's a great looking building. My favorite building in Chicago. :-)

13. CNA and the Sears monstrosity
Chicago is the beating heart of America. The Sears Tower is the central landmark of Chicago. The building is always there wherever you go in the City. I love the way it raises forever into the deepest, clearest, bluest skies.

I also love the CNA building because of the way it contrasts with the ultra blue Chicago sky.
