1. I was there!
He was WONDERFUL! Talked about running a national campaign with a national message next year, comparable to the Contract with America. The bullet points that seem to have been agreeed to by all the Dems are world-class education, universal health insurance (fight over single payer or not later), and energy indepence The message around energy indepence is centered 1) create strong new industries and jobs at home that can't be outsourced -- ie, energy indepence 2) staunch the hemorrhage of debt to the oil producing countries of the ME and elsewhere 3) strengthen national security (not just by funding the Pentagon, by decreasing dependency on oil-producing countries which fund anti-Americanism with the dollars they take in from us.

From what he said, I inferred that Dean has basically won the battle for message and for fighting a national campaign and not leving races uncontested. I'm sure there's still a long way to go, but he said that every democrat running next year will be running on this platform!

There was a lot more that I'll try to remember.

3. Hedda, there will be more up at this blog soon.
Someone has posted in the comments section a quite long response about the fundraiser. It is supposed to be front-paged by tonight.

And did he really say this? So funny:
"Dean re-emphasized his fifty state plan. He interjected that some people are concerned about him becoming part of the DC bubble, then he laughed at himself staying, “You don’t have to worry about that as long as I keep saying comments like, “hiding the salami”.”
